Smart Growth
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the U.S. population is projected to increase by approximately 50 million people over the next 15 years. It is imperative that we plan for increase by implementing changes now through smart planning, or Smart Growth. Smart Growth uses a framework of 10 planning principles to create distinctive, attractive, environmentally friendly communities, with a strong sense of place. As many jurisdictions begin to realize the advantages of Smart Growth, Avanti’s environmental planners are poised to assist with analyzing and developing Smart Growth opportunities.
